Thereâs a myth in Yusala about an ancient beast called Riggamora, whose great long body traversed the world and tore holes in its flesh as it passed, creating many of the rivers and valleys we call home today. Riggamora had achieved its terrible power by devouring humans and trollkin alike and acquiring their magic, thousands of them. The beast grew and grew, using our power against us, until it was finally felled by a true hero.
My parents were always very strict about my diet, because like most Yusalans, they believe everything we let enter our bodies will be returned to us tenfold. You can trap a thingâs power inside yourself by consuming it.
So I pick one of the worms up off the rock and wish: Please let me hear his voice again. Then I slip it in my mouth.
Loâzar makes a horrible gyechh! sound as it slides past my lips. His face is aghast. The worm wriggles as I try to get my throat to open for it, and I might throw upâbut I manage to swallow the worm all the way down until I can feel it wriggling in my belly.
What... What did you just do? Loâzar asks with extreme uncertainty.
What did it look like? I reach out, grab another worm, and offer it to him. If only touching it gives us this kind of power, imagine if you let it become a part of you.
He blinks, perplexed. Let it become a part of me?
So many things are different in this part of the world. I wonder if the trollkin even know about the legend of Riggamora.
Yes. I hold out the worm, and reluctantly, Loâzar takes it. Consuming it might make the effects last longer.
Longer. Maybe not forever, but it would give us more time before the gift fades away again.
Looking suspiciously at the worm, Loâzar brings it to his lips, then gives me one more wary look. I nod my head encouragingly.
This way you can keep saying nice things to me while youâre inside me, I say, and my face gets hot just thinking the words.
A big grin sweeps across Loâzarâs face. Without hesitation, he chants his own wish, then sucks the worm down in one motion. Thereâs a slurping sound as it vanishes into his mouth and down his throat. He gags and coughs.
Tastes like... worm, he says, wiping his face, and I laugh.
Should we experiment and see if it lasts this time? I donât know when I became so forward. Maybe it happened the moment he slipped his cock inside me and I understood what it could feel like. Maybe it happened when I looked into his eyes and saw him in there, all of him, and realized that I was meant to find him.
We should, Loâzar says, his hand traveling to my hip, then dipping beneath my tunic. Thereâs a wickedness in his eyes as four fingers reach up and brush my nipple. Immediately I want him all over me.
This time he takes me from
